Biography

 

Dami Andres is a prominent figure in the international music scene, known for his mastery of the 8-string guitar and his notable contribution to Brazilian and South American popular music. Based in Rio de Janeiro, Dami Andres enchants audiences worldwide with his unique interpretations of various musical genres, including Bossa Nova, Samba, Jazz, Choro, Tango, and much more. Dami Andres showcased his talent by winning first place in the Composition Contest at the MEC Radio Festival with his moving composition, "Saudade do Sul". His music transcends borders, and Dami Andres has collaborated with renowned international artists, taking his music from the United States to Cuba, from France to Japan, as well as Germany, Austria, Italy, Canada, Azerbaijan, Portugal, Spain, and many other countries. Dami Andres has a consolidated international career, with performances in over 25 European cities, including Brussels, Salzburg, Berlin, Paris, and Pargas. In addition, he has performed throughout Brazil, Asia, and Latin America. In 2023, he released a physical album in Germany of original compositions in collaboration with singer Marcia Bittencourt. Dami Andres has presented the world with exceptional interpretations of timeless classics, including "Insensatez" by Tom Jobim and a captivating arrangement of "Valsa de Eurídice" by Vinicius de Moraes for 8-string guitar. Furthermore, he released a new single with an engaging arrangement of "Luiza" by Tom Jobim. In 2024, he performed in Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, and embarked on a European tour. Over the past four years, Dami Andres has embarked on five exciting international tours, performing in over 10 countries around the world between 2019 and 2024, both as a solo artist and in duets, in jazz clubs, theaters, and jazz festivals, such as the "Jazz e Bossa Festival" in Finland, Salzburg Jazz Festival in Austria, Jazz Festival Buzios, Jazz Festival Bremen, Mugham Center Theater Baku, and Theater Municipal Rio de Janeiro, among others. For 2025, Dami Andres has a busy schedule. He will tour Europe alongside singer Marcia Bittencourt, visiting countries such as Germany, France, Holland, Austria, and Belgium. In Brazil, he will perform with saxophonist Edgar Duvivier and in August with American violinist Andrew Finn Magill. Currently, Dami Andres is recording an original trio album, which will feature the participation of the great musician Kamall Mussallam from Dubai. The album will be released in 2025. Additionally, Dami Andres has also recorded the Italian classic "Estate" with Sicilian singer Margherita Benincasa, and is recording "Fotografia" by Tom Jobim and "Spain" by Chick Corea with the great Japanese jazz singer Erika Matsuo, based in New York.
